Prayers please!

Dec 23

Grrrrrr.

This morning’s x-ray showed that the pneumothorax (air inside the chest cavity) has gotten slightly larger, which means that the right lung is still leaking air.

So, instead of signing my discharge papers, the team has ordered a new x-ray at 1pm.

If the x-ray shows “no change” from the previous x-ray, I get to go home.

If the x-ray shows that the pneumothorax is growing, I will probably have to stay in the hospital and I will probably be getting a new chest tube.  And, honestly, I will probably cry.

Would you please pray, pray, pray that my lung seals, my pneumothorax disappears, and I am discharged???  I try to reserve my asking-for-a-miracle-here-God moments for actual life-or-death scenarios.  This one is just a mama moment in a week where I’ve already missed a week’s worth of mama moments.  I want to be home with my family; happy, healthy, NED, together.

Thank you!

  7. Dear Jen,
May this prayer bring you healing-
Lord, I come before you today in need of your healing hand. In you all things are possible. Hold my heart within yours, and renew my mind, body, and soul.

You gave us life, and you also give us the gift of infinite joy. Give me the strength to move forward on the path you’ve laid out for me. Guide me towards better health.
May you receive the healing grace of Jesus.
    Amen.

Somewhere along the way you must have prayed for patience. Isn’t that what they always say… when you pray for patience; the Lord sends trials to teach you patience? It’s terrible to be going thru this so close to Christmas w/so much to do, & little ones waiting at home, but just as you expect your girls to learn patience, the Lord in his infinite wisdom is working on you.
Oh Jen of mighty strength! Keep your eyes on the big picture; NED for many Christmases and not just this one.
Prayers for the best possible outcome.

James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

  30. Sweet friend, I am praying!!
I’ve kept up with you the last few years, and have been thankful for God’s faithfulness throughout. He can’t be anything but that! He can be trusted!! But, trust me, I get it. I spent many a celebration in the hospital. It is so hard on the Mama heart.
Praying for healing and Mama peace.
